Christmas at our house

Hubby and I are getting ready to head to Calgary for the holidays, and I for one couldn't be more pumped. Hubby, myself and our Shitzu Kiara are all headed North for two weeks.

Even though we are leaving we still decided we had to have a Christmas tree, and put out our decorations. It just really wouldn't have felt like Christmas had we not.

We ended up buying our tree from the Costco tree lot ,which actually sold out in 2 weeks time. The tree is from Oregon, and is huge. We paid $1000 pesos for it, roughly $90usd. It was the biggest one they had.

All of our decorations on the tree were purchased at the local Home Depot - not cheap, but better quality than anywhere else we looked. The decor around our house is ours from Canada.

I can't wait to get to my Mom's place and take some pics there for all of you to see. For now, enjoy these pics of our place here in Cancun.

Happy Holidays !!!

Quick - someone hit Rudolph!

Yes, you are really seeing a vehicle dressed as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer here in Cancun. Ohhh my. I saw this little beauty as I was leaving Telmex the other day, and couldn't help but take a photo for all of you to enjoy!!

Oh, but wait today's special comes with another photo for you all to enjoy. My brother, hubby and I paid a littled visit to our local Home Depot recently and took a snap shot of "Naughty Santa" for you all....

Awww...How I love the holiday season :)

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!

Lately as Christmas is fast approaching I find myself missing the good old Canadian winter.... Just a weee bit!! Call me crazy, but before you judge - hear me out.

I miss the snow. I mean, I miss the snow for the month of December, and no more. Now as a true Calgarian, I am well aware that one month of snow is impossible. We are situated minutes from the Rocky Mountains. Not gonna happen !!!!

Anything, and I mean anything more than that one month is toooo much for me. Weather and climate were the biggest reason I had for moving to Cancun with hubby. Seriously, if Calgary, or any city in Canada had the climate of Cancun I'd never have left.

I received a photo taken from my brother yesterday that made me miss the Canadian winter just a little bit more than usual. It's taken from his BlackBerry so sorry the picture is not of better quality. What do you think??? I don't think I'm insane for wanting one month of snow, and 11 months of sunshine and sand. Do you??? Well, it's one of the reasons I'm going to spend half the month of December in Canada...

You can't tell me this isn't beautiful!!!

Feliz Navidad

Is there really that much more to say??

Feliz Navidad !!!!

I wish nothing but the best for everyone this holiday season. I truly mean that!!!!

It's always a little strange around Christmas time - my husband and his family celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December "Buena Noche". My family and I have ALWAYS celebrated Christmas on the 25th. This is something I won't budge on. He can have every other holiday, but NOT Christmas. I like our tradition...... I don't want it to change too much. We can always add on, but we will celebrate the 25th.... Indefinitely :)

What's on the menu?? Nothing but "good old faithful".

Turkey, Potatoes (roasted & mashed), Stuffing, Yams, Cauliflower, Carrots, Salad, Etc....

I just can't change it up.

At least we can agree on one thing - REAL TREE!!! I just looove the scent in the house, and there's something about the humidity. I don't ever remember a tree smelling so nice and for so long!!! How about you??

I'll have to post some pics of the neighbours houses - Seeing Santa in Cancun is just a totally different experience!! One that will be appreciated! LOL.

Well.... time to go and get ready for the fiesta!!!
