Hoping and Praying!

No, no, this post is not about the Presidential election that just took place in Mexico this past weekend!! I wouldn't dare go there.... LOL!!!

This is slightly more personal, and heck, I just want to write about it. I've made no secret to any of my friends out there that hubby and I want kids. Heck, if it were up to hubby we'd already have five (kidding!). I had told hubby for years that we should wait. What's the rush? Fast forward a few years and I'm now 31 years old, and we are still two DINK's!! (double income no kids...as my friend likes to call us).

The truth of the matter is we have been pregnant twice, and unfortunately it was not meant to be.  After that I really needed some time "off.  We started again about 7 months ago. Only this time my cycle was CRAZY. I saw my Dr in Cancun, and he decided it would be best for me to go back on the pill for four months....You know, to regulate my cycle. Who am I to argue? Anyways, I am off the pill this month, and hoping to get the green light from our Doc to start trying again!

We've been paying our seguros through hubby's work for a year now, and it is NOT cheap! In order to qualify for the type of coverage for all things pregnancy, you must be insured for a minimum of ten months.... Needless to say we are more than covered now.

I see my Dr again next week, and I'm hoping for some good news. The "go for it" news. Of course I am well aware it's not going to happen over night. I'm no spring chicken.... However, I really am just hoping for the best.... I'd like to be pregnant for Christmas of this year. You know?

I'm really trying my best not to stress out about it all...Hubby has been amazing. So has our Doctor here in Cancun, I am MORE than impressed.

Have any you out there had a similar situation? Or were you the type who blinked and it happened? LOL!!

I am so glad you wrote this amiga! Saul and I had troubles and losses as well before our son was born last Feb. I have wanting to write about it to give hope to others struggling with the same issues. I know how much it hurts and how lonely it can be at times, but I am certain that longing and will bring you a child to love in some way! And when it comes it's the most healing thing imaginable. I will be sending all positive thoughts and prayers for you both! And you've inspired me to finally write a bit about our own infertility issues! Suerte!

Amiga, thanks so much for leaving your message.... I know how difficult it can be to throw out there for the world to see. I obviously didn't include all trials, and tribulations, but you get the picture :)
It has been a huge struggle for us, and I hate to say that it seems everyone around is getting pregnant without even trying! I don't resent anyone, and of course I am thrilled for them, but it does make me sad for us... Is it going to happen? You know? I can only hope and pray that one day it will be our turn. I want to be a mother more than anything, and I think this process will make me an even better one, if and when it happens. I'm just blabbing now...Thanks for listening :)) xox (sorry you had to go through it, but you give me hope!!!)

Oh yay! Your kids would be gorgeous!

Hope all goes as planned. You have a lot of support through family and friends.

We're enjoying being DINKs so much that we're no longer sure if we even want kids! But that will probably change :)

PS I've been trying to bite my tongue on the elections, too... it's hard not to form an opinion! haha

Good Luck to you. Try the website www.fertilityfriend.com IT teaches you how to track your ovulation through taking your morning basal body temperature. Don't worry about your age I had Javier Jr when I was 37 (2 weeks shy of my 38 birthday) and he is healthy and happy.

Laura - Thanks so much :))

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I wanted kids, but Gill always knew...Now I"m paying! LOL! However, I really wouldn't change anything, nothing!! Enjoy being DINKS and then see if you still feel the same way in a few years!!
Oh and maybe we can get together and chat about the elections. Much better than keeping it all in!! LOL!

AJ- Thanks so much for the site hun. Unfortunately, I've tried it all... I'm just not ovulating...Tried, and tested.... I'm so happy you didn't have any issues :)) I'll keep you all posted !!! Off the pill this Sunday. CRAZY!

Hola Canadian Chica,

I am an official follower of your blog. It is funny, savvy and gives insight on both the negatives and positives of living in Cancun. I too am Canadian and lived life as a Cancunense. It was amazing and at times frustrating. Looking forward to your next post. I am also following other Mexican expat blogs. You ladies will really help others thinking of moving to Cancun. I wish blogs existed before I moved there!

Good luck with future parenthood and all your exciting
adventures. Keep praying and God wil bless you with that little bundle.

Buena suerte! ( hope that's right. My espanol is really rusty.)
