Time to lose the ponch....

Being back in Cancun has it's advantages, as well as it's disadvantages. Living the "beach" life is a real treat. I love the warm weather. I love that I can leave the house with out fear of being too cold. However, now that I've just had Baby E I am slightly self conscious. Okay, more than slightly.... I am VERY self conscious. So the disadvantage here? You can't hide underneath a layer of clothes, and all my friends are in SUPER shape. All of them. Not kidding.

Well yesterday hubby and I went to Costco and I bought a scale. This was the first time I've weighed myself since having Baby E. I thought I had 15lbs to lose, but was shocked to see I had 20.... I don't even know what to say. I am still in shock. No wonder none of my clothes fit. I went from being a size 2 to a size 8. Yes, I said 8. I have never in my life been larger than a size 4. I don't mean to sound vain. I worked hard to stay in shape all those years. Now that I'm 32 and just had a baby...Not so easy. I was on bed rest for 17 weeks of my pregnancy, and after having a c-section only just started working out again. I don't even know if you can call it working out. I have started stretching, and building muscle slowly. Baby steps I guess....

Hubby and I are going to start the gym soon. It's just really hard as he is working longer hours, and I have a baby. How we are going to find the time? Beats the heck out of me.... Should help that I am getting a car soon. I can run the errands during the day and it should free up some of our evenings.

Okay, Baby E is crying and I must run. Seriously, don't get a break!!! Not even time to proof read this mess of a post!!

Hope you're all having a good week!

Hugs mama! It will come in time. Just give it a few more weeks and work on things slowly. Manwhile rock some swimsuits under some rabulous beach coverups, flowy, feminine, pretty, good for hot weather.

One of my good friends had twins and told me when she got to the place where she could do crunches/situps again she would do 20 everytime she changed a diaper. She said that (or some other excersize that you fit in all day long, something little ) w the only way she had time for excersize.

CN you go on long walks with baby E? If you have a baby carrier or stroller that she enjoys, it would be good for you and her to be out in the nice weather. Most babes are calm on walks, right?

Hang in there, be patient! You just did one of the most important things in your entire life - it will take a little while to get to where you want to be shape wise again. <3

9 months on, 9 months off. With El Junior I gained 70 pds and it took me 1 year to get it off. The most important thing is that you have a healthy baby. Be kind to yourself.

Don't beat yourself up .. size 8 is still SMALL. Weight will disappear in due time. Just enjoy Baby E.

Mami - Thanks so much for your comment!!! I know I'm just being UBER sensitive, and self conscious. I can't help it....

I would love to go for walks, but will really have to plan them for early AM or later PM. It's so hot and humid here right now.... It's not fair for her to take her out during the day. We walked EVERY day in Canada and she had the best snoozes. LOL.

Amazing your friend would do 20 sit ups every time she changed a diaper. That would be like 10,000 a day. Hahaha. JK. Seriously though, good for her.

You sure are right though. Was the most important thing I've ever done in my life. Wouldn't have it any other way :)

AJ - You're right, and I know I have to think that way. Heck, after my c section the Dr's were telling me that it will take even longer to get back in shape... So I know I just have to take things slow. I think it's just seeing myself in photos right now and I'm like WOW. Do I really look that bad? You know?

You're right....The most important thing is she is so healthy, and what a happy baby :) Thank you !!

K - Thanks so much. I know I am super hard on myself. It's my body type...I am very curvy and I just feel like I look even bigger than an 8. Heck, my cleaning lady asked if I was a 12!!! Baby E is awesome and will be crawling in no time...Looks like I"ll be chasing after her soon!! LOL!

Hello!
My name is Natalie Sullivan and I'm casting an international travel show about expats moving abroad. We'd love to film in Mexico and wanted to know if you could help us find expats who have moved there within the last 15 months or have been there for 3-4 years, but recently moved into a new home. The show documents their move to a new country and will place the country in fabulous light. The expats on the show would also receive monetary compensation if they are filmed. They must also speak English fluently and can be buyers or renters for their homes. If you'd like more information, please give me a call at 212-231-7717 or skype me at natalieesullivan. You can also email me at nataliesullivan@leopardusa.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
